HELP!!!! What is the CGIXXXX.YYY stored in /tmp/ ?????
Hi,
We have a website which loads a data file and then
create a html file (according to the data file) with
more than thousand of combobox at a time (on the same
page).
The first time we load that page, everything seems
fine. all combobox have been created. But when we load
a second data file (not the same) the system seems to
create some tempoary files which contains the first

I tried many combinations: different Windows, Linux and Solaris
machines with different browsers (ie, mozilla, firefox, sea-monkey).
You can trace the upload by looking at the /tmp folder of the web
server. When a Windows upload starts, you can see a CGIXXXX-0 file
growing in the /tmp folder. When the Linux upload starts, you can see
a second CGIXXXX-0 file in the /tmp folder. After 1-2 seconds, the
temp file corresponding to the Linux upload stops growing (while the
Windows upload file continues to grow).
Does anyone know why this happens?

...So I have a text field that gets filled in
with the file path after choosing a file by browsing the local hard
drive. I realize that when submitted, the file goes to my windows/temp
directory as a windows user. I haven''t done anything similar before.
It''s saving it in the form CGIxxxx.x, where the x''s are numbers, much
like in the forthecode walkthrough which I am following.
There are problems with moving the file out of the temp directory to an
appropriate directory in my web application. When using the FileUtils.mv
function I get a permission denied rails error in...
