using a value in a column to "lookup" data in a certian column of a dataset?
I have a dataset with 20 columns and ~600,000 rows. Column 1 has a number from 2-19. This number tells me, for each row, which column has the ?applicable? data. (i.e. the data that I wish to use for each individual row) I want to create a vector that contains the data from the value in column 1. e.g. If column 1, row 1, has a value of ?6?, I want to obtain the value in column 6, row1. If

[Bug 82] New: scp: Command not found errors
...cal/bin which is where scp is located. It is fixed by adding /usr/local/bin to one's login setup scripts. Next, the configure --with-default-path suggestion is a bum steer. The option --with-default-path no longer effects the makefiles, header files or source code. It did in Version 1.x but certianly its gone from 3.x and later 2.x's. This option should be removed from configure, since it's no longer used. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.

Easy security administration?
Hello. I've got several clients using samba (ranging from 2.2.1a to 2.2.5) as their primary windows server. The question has come up with clients about ease of administration and security rights for samba. Currently, the only way I've been able to show clients how to manipulate security settings and restrict users from certian shares is to use write and read lists per share, or create

[RFC] virtio: Use DMA MAP API for devices without an IOMMU
There are certian platforms which would like to use SWIOTLB based DMA API for bouncing purpose without actually requiring an IOMMU back end. But the virtio core does not allow such mechanism. Right now DMA MAP API is only selected for devices which have an IOMMU and then the QEMU/host back end will process all incoming SG buffer addresses as IOVA instead of simple GPA which is the case for simple

Adding predicted values as a new variable in a data frame
I am running a regression: ols.reg1 <- lm(y ~ x1 + x2 + x3 + x4) on a data.frame and then generating fitted values: y.hat <- ols.reg1$fitted.values Then I would like to add these fitted values to the data.frame as a new variable. The problem is that when the values are predicted the resulting output has too few rows. for some reason certian observations do not get predicted values. So

Managing updates to non-centos packages
Hi, I'm looking for some documentation (or advice) on how to best manage a -mostly- upstream binary compatible CentOS installation. I enabled the rpmforge repository in order to install a few packages not available in base/updates/centosplus. But, now when I do a "yum check-update" yum wants to update a whole stack of packages because it's found newer versions at

Manager Interface Needs a protocol
I was using the Asterisk::Manager perl module and had some troube with it so I decided to make my own. I have a pretty good prototype after a few hours (My main point about the protocol is at the bottom of this example.) http://asterisk.650dialup.com is where you can download it. my $man = init Asterisk::AstMan ({ -user => "asterisk",

Dovecots pop3-UIDL command impl. not RFC compliant ?
Hi ! POP3-RFC (1939) speaks about UIDL command: The unique-id of a message is an arbitrary server-determined string, consisting of one to 70 characters in the range 0x21 to 0x7E, which uniquely identifies a message within a maildrop and which persists across sessions. When I issue an UIDL command (dovecot 0.99.10.9) I get replies like 1 1093990148.1 2 1093990148.2 3 1093990148.3 ... . You see

Problem in applying conditional looping
Respected All, I hope you are enjoying good health, I am tring to write a program in R but could not be very sucessful. My program draws random sample form bivariate normal distribution and then compute a variable PIJ. For certian samples some entries of variable PIJ is apearing as negative, which result in negative variance estimator. I want to introduce a loop in my program that verify the each

RtlGetNtVersionNumbers
...RtlGetNtVersionNumbers, called by lots of windows XP apps (including winver, cmd.exe, and regedit). BTW, are we just not bothering to match ordnals on our exports, or is there some deeper reason for using @s? As the patch says, the API is undocmented, so my implementation might be off. It's certianly matches winxp's behavor (when run with --winver=winxp, that is); the dissasm is quite simple (god, I love IDA). -=- James Mastros -- "In the case of alchemy v chemistry the chemists know whether it will probably go bang before they try it (and the chemical engineers still duck anyway).&...

Tracking or checking backported kernel patches from upstream
Hi! I'm interested in finding out if a couple of upstream kernel patches were backported into CentOS (RHEL), in particular this one <https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=512ac999d27> and this one <https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=763a9ec06c4> . What's the procedure? After reading an article
