No computers visible in network neighborhood unless adressed directly.
I am using Samba as a PDC with Windows XP clients. Everything
seems to work ok (except for some bugs not related to this)
except that none of the clients sees anything in the domain
(Entire Network\DOMAIN). All computers/shares are accessible
when brwosing \\computer. This is not the case when not using
Samba as PDC.

Samba client not visible for XP

Can anybody explain the following?
I have two situations, one old and one new ;-)
Old situation:
- OS = win98
Samba = 2.2.??? (forgot, but this hasn't changed)
Samba server visible in workgroup = NO
Samba server connectable by name = YES (\\server\share)
New situation:
- OS = Win XP
Samba = 2.2.??? (yep, still the same

The samba box's hosts go in /etc, /lmhosts go in /etc/samba
(if you're using the current defaults. Put the lmhosts
wherever your smb.conf is located.
The syntax is a bit different; just ip host
e.g. 192.168.1.1 samba1
no #PRE, etc.
Look at the docs that come with samba,
like brwosing.txt, browsing-config.txt, etc.
They may help you out as well.
