...ed so they can remove it. I have searched the help list but have not found anything and was wondering if this is possible? I realise I could probably do this through the R/system command line interface but I thought there may be a simpler way to do this through R. Many thanks, Gavin. OS X-centricities? Too many files, temp, indexes, etc...
I'm just writing to see if anyone else is seeing the following issues, and particularly if they are running OS X (especially 10.4), and/or have compatible solutions (I've been reading the mailing list quite a bit, and every now and then, I find a solution that just "doesn't work" because of the differences in OS: 1) Too many files open - no plimit command on OS X, so I

vsftp and nonpriv_user option question
thhis didnt go through completely the first time. I am a bit confused as to how this works. I created a local unpriveleged user (with /bin/nologin shell). i uncommented the line containing nopriv_user=ftpsecure and restarted vsftp. I am confused as to what is supposed to happen. Shuld the daemon /usr/sbin/vsftpd be run as root or should it be ftpsecure? Or is the account only used to

[LLVMdev] Question about the GraphWriter.h file
Hi. I'd like to know where LLVM installs the GraphWriter.h file on a standard install. I'd like to know this to avoid any possibility of overwriting it with software that I am developing. Please CC me as I'm off list. Thanks! Paul Blackburn

Extending RAIDZ.
Yeah:) I''d like to work on this. Here are my first observations: - We need to call vdev_op_asize method with additonal ''offset'' argument, - We need to move data to new disk starting from the very begining, so we can''t reuse scrub/resilver code which does tree-walk through the data. Below you can see how I imagine to extend RAIDZ. Here is the legend:

...access to an Active Directory group of users if that is possible, but then it needs to validate the user on more than one domain......um? My head hurts already. SMS to fixed phone line
Telstra (Australian Telco) has recently introduced a feature to allow the sending of SMS direct to fixed analogue lines, with an appropriate handset. As best as I can figure out, this appears to use CID type signalling, or at least on a line that otherwise has no CID on it, CID is sent, but with a standard modem I can only receive the date, time, and phone number (eg normal CID info). After that

Promise Ultra133TX2?
Has anyone made the Promise Ultra133TX2 2-port PCI<->IDE card work with Solaris x86 11/06? I''ve seen some references to the Ultra100TX2, but it doesn''t seem to refer to the version that I''m using. Dovecot LDA - Performance/issues versus postfix delivery? Also, installing on OS X?
Can anyone give me an idea of whether or not dovecot-lda can solve the following issue: We seem to have constantly-corrupting dovecot* files for people who fit one (or more) of the following categories: 1) 1000+ message inboxes; 2) multiple clients simultaneously checking mail; 3) people receiving a lot of mail, and/or the server receiving and trying to deliver a single message to all users at

files not showing up in an nfs mounted filesysetm in timely manner
We have and nfs mount from a windows pc nfs server. A file is created on the server, but can take as long as 50 seconds to become available on the client. We are running Centos 5.2 (final), using NFS version 3. Is there anything we can do from the client side to see the file more quickly.
