Asterisk network architecture
Hello, I'm currently working on a new installation and wondering which architecture and protocol I should use... I want to share my Asterisk server between users on my internal LAN and a user connecting via Internet... So, my server has to be reachable from outside and also from inside... For the external user, I'll use a softphone and probably IAX2 ? What about internal users and

here's the thing that tips the scale
ok, i waited for 2 weeks, and still no votes -- none! -- on whether my posts are sufficiently on-topic, or not... and that basically confirms what i suspected all along, which is that no one really cares one way or the other. even the guys who put up the bitchy posts are probably just having a bad day, and they don't have a dog to kick, and the wife made 'em stop smoking herb, so they have no way to chill out and get mellow when they're cranky. *** so i'll still think about it some more, but it's likely that i'll resume the short...

Complete Web Interface?
Hi all, I was wondering, has anyone built a complete web interface for SMB servers? What I was thinking of would be something like SMB2WWW, but that would also allow the user to click command buttons to delete, upload, move, rename, etc. Permissions to the shares would be established the same way as they are done now, by asking for a username / password on restricted shares. Essentially, I

Ok Feri, of course there is no reason for insults, but still, some groups take offense at any criticism. If I sound bitchy it is only as feedback to help make the thing perfect. I find GRUB to be a bloated monster so I've always used LILO, but Joachim says he will stop supporting it at the end of this year and that means that Syslinux will have to replace LILO for me. You only loose your virginity once, which...

Migration: server with smb 2.2 -> new server, 2.2 too, weird issues
...r, successful, and I have compared the data. There are some distinctive keys and values and what the system gets from them. It seems to me that in the Cache keys it looks for a certain SID. I think something could be written or modified there (I might be crazy, of course, but when the issue is so bitchy that a flamethrower is behind you, what can you try to do?), so I need some kind of clue here. This log file has been cut by some fields and of course from a lot of lines. The original is 988KB size and this one is about 26KB. I still maintain the big one in case somebody could help me with this i...
