Samba4 - Bind Config with DHCP
...-addr.arpa. {
primary localhost;
key rndc-key;
}
Afterwards I downloaded the latest Samba4 from git and installed.
The provision command I used was: /usr/local/samba/bin/samba-tool domain provision --realm=lab.rhdhv.local --domain=LAB --adminpass='p4$$word' --server-role=dc --dns-backend=BIND_FLATFILE
My question is thus: How can I make Samba4 update the DNS entries and allow DHCP to update the entries? Secondly, is this even necessry with the AD type domain?

Another good test is to run "dcdiag /s:<domain controller name>"
Also on windows I installed the AD tools on my Windows 10 machine to create
accounts and GPOs
For Fedora the samba wiki worked on my main machine I used bind_flatfile as
bind on Fedora did not support DLZ but on a vm following the same
instructions did not work. I must not have had some options installed that
I need for it to work properly. If and when I fix it maybe then I can
update the wiki.
For now I have a working Ubuntu 16.04 AD DC Samba server following...

Please do not use flatfiles with Samba, they are not...

RNDC errors using SAMBA_INTERNAL_DNS
Hi all,
I've set up a simple domain using Samba 4.4.2 from source under Ubuntu
16.04.
I accepted the usual defaults and basically followed wiki.samba.org to
the letter. The main thing is I'm using Samba's internal DNS and not
Bind (Bind is not even installed on the system).
In the log.samba file on the first DC I kept getting this:
