...getting it approved by our IT folks is daunting, and requiring an Internet connection is troublesome for our black-world users. So, I''m thinking either a stand-alone executable (via RubyScript2Exe?) or a set of static HTML pages they could load locally? Any other suggestions? Thanks, -- Bil Kleb http://fun3d.larc.nasa.gov

Importing BSQ/BIP/BIL files into R
I was hoping I could get some help with an import question. I work with remote sensing imagery which commonly comes in binary form in various interleaving formats (byte interleaved by line, by pixel, etc..). These files are 2d spatial x B bands in size, and I want to be able to extract the band values from various pixels (so each line of data into R would be one pixel x B bands). What's the

Please forgive me if this has been answered in another post. I''ve looked around but couldn''t find a solution. I bought the book "Agile Web Development with Rails" and think I''m going to really like it. I went through the first chapter with no problems. However, as I begin developing the database on page 57, I get a consitent error: Before updating scaffolding

Native MOH - Convert mp3 to ulaw
I'd like to use native moh instead of with mpg123... for some reason the processes never bloody die. For native moh to not spawn an external player, I'd need to convert the default supplied moh sound files in /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3 to ulaw and g729 format. Anyone know of a free, easy way to convert them? Thanks, Doug.

Escaping characters
Hi, I am writing some help about post formatting. I am using redcloth to format the text, and in a FAQ, also formatted with redcloth, I explain what to type to what to obtain.
