help me, glusterfs 3.3 doen't support fopen-keep-cache?
Dear gluster experts, I search through glusterfs 3.3 source tree and can't find any fuse open option FOPEN_KEEP_CACHE related code. Does this mean that glusterfs 3.3 doen't support fuse keep cache feature? However I did find keep cache code in mainline. My question is: 1 does glusterfs 3.3 support page cache? 2 if not what is the best practice to improve performance if a file is

Ubuntu 12.04 and fallocate()
Hey all, Trying to use fallocate with qcow2 images to increase performance. When doing so (with OpenStack), my Gluster mountpoint goes into "Transport endpoint is not connected". I am running the Ubuntu 12.04 version of glusterfs-client/server (3.2.5-1ubuntu1) and fuse (2.8.6-2ubuntu2). Any ideas? Thanks, Jacob -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was

How reliable is XFS under Gluster?
Hello, I am in the point of picking up a FS for new brick nodes. I was used to like and use ext4 until now but I recently red for an issue introduced by a patch in ext4 that breaks the distributed translator. In the same time, it looks like the recommended FS for a brick is no longer ext4 but XFS which apparently will also be the default FS in the upcoming RedHat7. On the other hand, XFS is being

virtio_blk BUG on detach-disk/attach-disk of mounted vd
Hi, I know this isn't a valid use case or generally sane thing to do, but we have a bug (link, with details, below) filed for a panic against a detach-disk/attach-disk sequence of an ext4 mounted vd device on a rhel kernel. The same sequence leads to the following BUG on an upstream kernel (3.7.0-rc5+ SMP x86_64 GNU/Linux): [ 75.114951] BUG: unable to handle kernel NULL pointer

SSH Commands Initiated from Apache Fail
Hi, I don't know if this is a bug or not. I use Apache web server and perl cgi's and modules to start a shell script which runs a simple ssh command: /usr/local/bin/ssh $dest rm -r /directory/tree/to/be/removed This works fine from the command line. However, when run from the web server, it fails. The error return code is 255. The user in both cases is the same and publickey
