mount /dev/hda6 ext3
Dear all, I followed the instructions found on http://www.zip.com.au/~akpm/linux/ext3/ext3-usage.html to convert / on several of my boxes to ext3. Strange to me, on some boxes it perfectly worked while on others it didn't. One of the differences found is that on the ok-boxes mount reports: /dev/hda3 on / type ext3 (rw,errors=remount-ro) /* Settings: cat /etc/fstab /dev/hda3 / ext3

optimize mouse for games
...move the camera - when it happens??? - happens when i keep the left or right button of the mouse pressed, then the cursor disapears and while pressed i can rotate the camera, not inside a battle, inside a battle works fine, problem is when walking, you just use the mouse - it does work, but very baddly, and for moving the mouse like crazy only moves the camera like a 1%-%5 - tried on the wine config > gfx > allow dx to stop the mouse while leaving their window, very little it improves - for only this problem, the game is unplayable for me

...ystem would freeze at "initializing hardware: storage" step. Booting in rescue mode would freeze just after kernel was loaded. Opened box, unplugged the card, booted without it, system works. Plugged it back in, and now everything works perfectly again!? Most likely it's not "baddly plugged card". I've visually checked for that, the card was plugged seated properly in PCI slot. Both the motherboard and card are just weeks old, so I would rule out oxydation on the connectors. Anyhow, BIOS initialization was fine, and BIOS utilities worked perfectly. Device driver b...

OpenSSHd: PATHs in configuration files
Dear all, is it possible to specify the default paths in the appropriate configuration of the Daemon ? If not, wouldn't it make sense to include that feature as the configuration files get parsed anyway ? What do you mean ? config.h.in
Dear developers, today, I cvs'ed the newest openSSH. Unfortunately, the config.h.in file was missing. I copied it from the tar-ball. Was this my fault or a problem in the CVS ? (The auto detect of file type can be fooled, but it's happened only once in my experience, and that was a baddly written piece of in-house code) What do you get when you do an 'lpq -PHPK80' from an ordinary unix prompt. Oh, and what OS are you running? And what version of Samba? Mac Assistant Systems Adminstrator @nibsc.ac.uk dmcca...

OpenSSH and Solaris with 0.9.6x openssl
Hello, I have tried to install openssh 2.9p2 on Solaris 2.6 and Solaris 2.8 after compiling the openssl (both 0.9.6a and 0.9.6b) and openssh software with both gcc 2.95.3, Sun's Forte compiler, Sun's linker, etc. I have tried the zlib from Sun freeware and version 11.8.0 REV=2000.01.08.18.12 contained in the SUNWzlib package. Both openssh and openssl appear to make properly and all the

What do you name yours
Hello list we are installing 2 new servers (to run asterisk) shortly, for a "stand alone" service. Ignoring our current naming convention, we'd like to name them something.. but we are not sure what. a consideration is that on the screens of the phones it shows extension@hostname (eg 3001@telephony) (all extensions are numeric) so the users will see it everyday i'm not
