Fedora change that will probably affect RHEL

Take an unvaccinated child on a long vacation to some 3rd world cesspit, then report back on how that worked out. ?Like every other creature on the face of the earth, Godfrey was, by birthright, a stupendous badass, albeit in the somewhat narrow technical sense that he could trace his ancestry back up a long line of slightly less highly evolved stupendous badasses to that first self- replicating gizmo ? which, given the number and variety of its descendants, might justifiably be descr...

seeking Icecast ninja
...ed Icecast and spent a lot of time trying to get it functional without much success. I have a massive amount of stuff to coordinate so I'm looking for help to get this thing built. Someone not afraid of Flash, with PHP and MySQL skills. I have a very small team that's more interested in badass development than getting rich, but it is a paying gig.

...of LVM for CentOS system disks is ability to use pvmove to replace a drive online, rather than resize. If Btrfs stabilizes sufficiently for RHEL/CentOS 8, overall it's a win because it meets the simple need of mortal users and supports advanced features for advanced users. (Ergo I think LVM is badass but it's also the storage equivalent of emacs - managing it is completely crazy.) >This is just one example. Flexibility is worth an ounce of complexity. I think LVM is badass, however if you don't know the LVM tools, you're instantly tossed deep into the weeds. Most every letter, lower and upper case, seems to be used twice by each of the lvm commands. I don't have enough fingers to count the number of lvm commands. There's so much intricate detail requi...

querying an NT domain for a list of logged-in users
Hello all, I'm investigating the possibility of creating a Linux-based firewall solution which can allow or reject connections based on the identity of the user currently logged into a machine, similar to what's possible with MS Proxy Server. I know that nmblookup can be used to query the logged-in user on a Win9x machine; is there a similar ready-made mechanism that can be used in an NT

RJS implementation question
Why is RJS so dependant on programatic creation of Javascript? RHTML is a great implementation in that it puts HTML first, and Ruby second. I would have thought RJS would be the same way: a .js with ERb helpers for generating Javascript functions. RJS putting Javascript second means: - I have to learn a whole new set of commands to use Scriptaculous. - Developers have to constantly chase the

It is priced pretty nicely for your setup and has a sweet GUI. It is 1U and can be wallmounted. The phones are pretty badass too. It fits your stated requirements right out of box and adding a new phone is truly plug and play. Best part of the 3com solution is I have NEVER had an echo issue. I usually pitch both systems as total solutions explaining the pros and cons of both. Some prospects wont go for a product &q...

Going beyond the default html formatter/report?
Hi! I wonder does anybody planning to go beyond the default html formatter/report? The current html report is nice and green but what about to go a little silly and enable also user input. For example to let customer to add a new pending spec, comments etc. I feel it might be mentally easier for some customers to jump into spec world when it is possible to give input at "the same

Can I construct the controller myself in a controller spec?
Hi I am experimenting with Constructor based dependency injection for rails controllers. So I have something like this class LoginSessionsController < ApplicationController def initialize(authenticator = TheRealAuthenticator) @authenticator = authenticator end .... end The plan was to override the authenticator used when testing with something like describe
