[LLVMdev] Visual C++ 2008 Build from trunk
I'm trying to build the sources from the svn trunk using VC2008, and I'm
running into some problems. First, I have no idea what the configure project
is for, and it fails with a manifest related error (the project lacks any
.c* files anyway). This causes an avalanche of problems, initiated by
TableGen not being able to build. Has anyone been successful in getting the
LLVM libs to build under VC?

Am I missing something (besides ''missing'' something)? Curiously this
section of the book is the one part that has escaped an avalanche of
corrections/suggestions in the errata page.
Thanks in advance.

Jitter buffer white paper?
Hi,
Is there a white paper describing how the jitter buffer in Speex works and what "side effects" (such as introducing delay) can happen? In the past, I have implemented a similar "dual buffer" algorithm to try to smooth out lost or delayed packets with a fixed know delay (no larger than 2 times the Speex frame). Thanks.
Regards,
Andy

Signify level of significance
Im doing test on my sample using 1-sample Kolmogorov-smirnov test(poisson
distribution) to specify my sample obtain avalanche effect. before i can
compare my D value with the critical value(Dn, alpha), i have to specify
which level of significance to use (eg. alpha = 0.01, 0.05, etc) and i don't
understand, why is it related to the probability that the hypothesis will be
rejected when it is in fact true. please anyon...

Is there a way to get inserted into an LEC's CLI DB?
Does anyone know if there's a service out there to -- for a fee --
inject our DID into the LEC's CLI database so a called party gets our

FK references in DBDesigner4?
...to have trouble getting DBD4 to create ActiveRecord-compatible
DDL statements. I have a database with a series of 1:n relationships
which should be easy to model. But, depending on the relationship type
I use, when I connect them in the ERD it either:
1) starts cascading foreign keys like an avalanche, or
2) fails to add ''contraint fk_xxx foreign key (yyy) references (zzz)'' to
the DDL
Is there some setting in DBD4 which will allow it to output RoR-friendly
DDL statements and structure? (yes I know the product is unsupported
but MySQL Workbench is unusable)

NFS not responding generates authantication crash
I am facing dovecot authentication problems caused by unresponding NFS
server. If there is even short break in communication with NFS server
keeping maildirs, the dovecot generates the avalanche of processes
(dovecot/imap and dovecot/pop3). The real number of connections was about 50
and after the problems occurs it rises to 1000. After about 3 hours the
limit of connections is filled up:
dovecot: master: Warning: service(auth): client_limit (1000) reached,

Sneaky Windows install through Wine
Hello. I tried to search for an answer to this question, but found it difficult to phrase in a way that wouldn't bury the pertinent information in an avalanche of more common usage situations.
My situation is this: My work machine has Windows XP on one partition, and Ubuntu 7.10 on another. Windows is so horribly locked down that I can't install a lot of the software that I need to do my job, and for various reasons I'm forced to operate witho...
