Time Server? - Answers/Summary
...on logon (which happens
once a day, if that). So it seems like if you want your Windows clients to
stay in sync then you must manually do it with a scheduled task that will
issue the correct 'net time' command. Or you can install a NTP client for
Windows.

Using eth0 on desktops with single network interface
What is the best way to stop CentOS 6 from renaming the eth0 interface to em1? I've googled a bit and found many relevant posts, but have still not come up with an elegant solution. One of the resources I found was http://www.arachnoid.com/linux/network_names/index.html, and while the Python script contained therein does create a new udev rule that renames em1 back to eth0 it feels kludgy and requires me to manually create the ifcfg-eth0 script. I'm looking for a way to stop udev from renaming the interface in the first plac...

Time/Date missing on Cisco 7940G and 7960G SIP phone display
When we were first installing these SIP phones, the time and date was
displayed on the top status line. Firmware version 6.3. Using dhcp, tftp,
http, and ntp servers for configuration all on the LAN (* box).
Now that we have these working with *, the time/date display is missing.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom

[Bug 94342] New: Nvidia G96GLM 3840x2160@30 not functional with nouveau
...nouveau.hdmimhz parameter.
A 3840x2160 at 30 mode appears automatically as soon as I specify
nouveau.hdmimhz=297. However when I select it the external monitor turns white
with a black bar at the bottom instead of showing the correct screen content.
Trying predefined modelines by cvt, gtf or the arachnoid modeline calculator
(online) does not yield any usable result either (blackscreens).
Unfortunately many 4K screens only support at minimum 30Hz and not 23Hz so
that this issue is a real problem. Besides this heavy mode switching can still
lead to crashes/hangs while the 3840x2160 at 30-interlaced...
