Analyzing 2008 ANES using the weight variable
Good morning. I am a competent (not sophisticated) Stata and SPSS user. Although I'm relatively new to R, I have learned to analyze unweighted data. But now I want to analyze the 2008 American National Election Study, which provides a single weight variable (v081010). In SPSS, I set the weight and proceed with the analysis. In Stata, I specify the weight within the command. How do I use the

weighting (survey) data
Hi, is there a function in R equivalent to the "weight by"-command in SPSS? I'm working with survey datasets and the data need to be weighted by a survey/ probability/ design weight (to compensate for different probabilities to be included in the sample in each country). The weight variables are included in the datasets. I did find functions in the Hmisc and survey packages that

Small modification of zip.file.extract in utils?
Dear list, I needed to extract a zip-archive, and found zip.file.extract in utils. My only problem was the use of tempdir(), since I wanted to permanently extract the archive at a fixed location for later use. My own fix was simple, adding an extra parameter zipdir (without default), and within the function change tmpd <- tempdir() to tmpd = ifelse(missing(zipdir),tempdir(),zipdir) This modification could maybe be useful also for other use...

Tessellation shaders get MEM_OUT_OF_BOUNDS errors / missing triangles
...size in TCS. I'm including a link to a text file with the tessellation control and evaluation shaders (decoded with nvdisasm which you're hopefully more familiar with), along with the shader headers that we generate. FTR, this is how I feed the raw shader opcode bytes into nvdisasm: perl -ane 'foreach (@F) { print pack "I", hex($_) }' > tt; nvdisasm -b SM35 tt (for some reason it doesn't want to read from a pipe or even a fd). http://people.freedesktop.org/~imirkin/tess_shaders_quads.txt My suspicion is that we're doing something wrong with the sched code...

[LLVMdev] Explicitly Managed Stack Frames

Is the only necessary change transforming the code to use CPS, or would other passes have to be written to make it efficient? How badly would CPS break the other optimizations that LLVM performs? Are there ane resources on CPS that provide more insight? Most of what I could find online only talked about it from a theoretical perspective and did a lot of hand waving on the actual specifics. Thank you for your time, Ben Chambers P.S. The document I was referring to for the notes on how to implement this...
