Set Audio Defaults in Wine
...have is when I connect my USB headset. It is a wireless piece that I don't use very often. Wine recognizes it right away, but unfortunately it also makes it the device of choice. The only way to get Wine to use my speakers is to unplug the headset. Is there somewhere that I can disable USB altogther with Wine? Or is there a way to tell Wine to default the audio device to the onboard sound instead of the USB? All love for Wine so that I could finally ditch my M$ box, but this is really getting frustrating! Thanks!

cdr_addon_mysql.so is not created
...9;m trying to add MySQL CDR recording in Asterisk 1.4.6 I'm following the instructions posted here: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+cdr+mysql but after running make, the cdr_addon_mysql.so is not created. I don't get any compile errors. In fact it just seems to skip the compile altogther: I saw somewhere that one should comment out: #include <asterisk.h> in cdr_addon_mysql.c. I tried that, ran make again (did not run make clean) and it still didn't build. Any ideas why the cdr_addon_mysql is being skipped? Thanks, Hugh

How to force XP to use an unqualified username?
Hi, I'm trying to map a share to a samba server from an XP workstation. The Samba server is a domain member, and the share in question is set up for guest access. >From a linux box, I can run "smbclient -W DOMAIN \\server\share", and it prompts for a password. I hit enter, and it logs in as "anonymous". Looking at a packet trace I see it try to log in as

Confusion over how to configure WINS
We have a network of about 24 remote site all connecting to our home office across a mixture of private frame relay and VPN across the internet. In order to simplify our life, and at the same time, reduce the amount of non critical and chatty traffic transversing the WAN links during business hours, we are putting servers at each remote to do DHCP, DNS, WINS, and file and print sharing. From the

can''t add vlans successfully
Hi, I want to add 2 vlans by the following steps: 1. add the vlan interfaces: vconfig add eth0 100 --vlan100 vconfig add eth0 101 --vlan101 2. modify the network-bridge script by the websit, http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenNetworking#head-04ebcc1760dbc4678e83b116afa310dc0612dc39 Comment each time ifup or ifdown commands are executed. The reason is that ifdown ends with

[virtio-dev] Re: [Qemu-devel] [PATCH] qemu: Introduce VIRTIO_NET_F_STANDBY feature bit to virtio_net
I've been pointed to this discussion (which I had missed previously) and I'm getting a headache. Let me first summarize how I understand how this feature is supposed to work, then I'll respond to some individual points. The basic idea is to enable guests to migrate seamlessly, while still making it possible for them to use a passed-through device for more performance etc. The means to

...igration status exposed (e.g. the feature negotiation status on the virtio device) by QEMU. QEMU manages the visibility of the primary in guest along virtio's feature negotiation process. c. Fully combined device: in this model, virtio and passthough devices are viewed as a single VM interface altogther. QEMU not just controls the visibility of the primary in guest, but can also manage the exposure of the passthrough for migratability. It can be like that libvirt supplies the group ID to QEMU. Or libvirt does not even have to provide group ID for grouping the two devices, if just one single comb...

object size vs. file size
Hi, There is rather large discrepancy in the size of the object as it lives in R and the size of the object when it is written to the disk. The object in question is an S4 of a homemade class "sa". I first call a function that writes a list of these objects to a file called "data.RData". The size of this file is 14,411 KB. I would assume on average then, that each list
