python: listing samba shares
I've been googling that for a long time, but couldn't find an answer. I also checked the python-samba Debian (ubuntu) package contents and even compiled samba 4.0.0 alpha8, and checked its python libraries, but couldn't find anything regarding viewing the shares contents there. Is it possible to list samba shares and their contents of a particular host?

Theora 1.0beta1 released
...ember 22) - Granulepos scheme modified to match other codecs. This bumps the bitstream revision to 3.2.1. Bitstreams marked 3.2.0 are handled correctly by this decoder. Older decoders will show a one frame sync error in the less noticable direction. It also includes the changes done for alpha8, which was short lived and is only interesting for historical reasons: libtheora 1.0alpha8 (2007 September 18) - Switch to new spec compliant decoder from theora-exp branch. Written by Dr. Timothy Terriberry. - Add support to the encoder for using quantization settings provided by the app...

Samba4 Provisioning Segfault
Hi, Hope this is the right place to ask about this... I did a clean install of S4 alpha10 the other day and attempted to provision it with the python script provided. This failed with a segmentation fault, however doing this with alpha8 does not fail. I've compiled this under arm5 little endian on Ubuntu 9.04 and included a backtrace below. Any ideas where I'm going wrong or is this a (platform specific?) bug? I also had trouble connecting Win7 clients to an alpha8 domain, trust relationship failed. Is this something whic...

For anyone to replicate this, install samba4, import the DisplaySpecifiers from source and edit /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/samba/provision.py to contain the right setup path; $ vi /usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/samba/provision.py # I...

...ase that can use a range of modular backends. One of the backends supports standards compliant LDAP servers (including OpenLDAP), and we are working on modules to map between AD-like behaviours and this backend. We are aiming for Samba 4 to be powerful frontend to large directories. CHANGES SINCE alpha8 ===================== In the time since Samba4 alpha8 was released in June 2009, Samba has continued to evolve, but you may particularly notice these areas (in no particular order): Samba4 now includes the full set of user interface strings (display Specifiers) required to have the Microsoft M...

Failed to connect NT workstation to Samba2.0alpha8
Hi Folks, I downloaded Samba2.0alpha8 from Samba site. Compiled it and installed it on the Solaris 2.6 unix box. I set up domain logon for both Windows 98 clients and WinNT. There is no problem logging on from Windows98 and the shares are all working alright. Then, I followed Samba NTDOM FAQ and add the NT workstation name into /etc...
