Is there a way to create an NTConfig.POL file without having access to an NT4, w2k or w2k3 server? Is there a way to do it in linux? Or a winxp/9x workstation?

Hi I'm trying to aply policy to my domain users, but isn't working. I'm created a NTConfig.pol with poledit.exe (from WinNT service pack 4 (adminpak.msi)) and save on netlogon share. When client logon, nothing hapen. How can i check if policy is downloaded from server? Hi Can anyone confirm dfs doesn't work in a Samba4 domain? We used the distributed file system tool which comes with the 2003 adminpak. We tried to make a new root on both a DC and on a file server in our domain but both bring the same error as per the attachment. Thanks, Steve

Does anyone know how to setup the smb.conf file for the my document folder redirection in windows. If I point it to a root share, with a Microsoft file server, it will automatically create a folder for each user with a my documents folder under that. How can I get that to happen with a samba share. Using Debian Etch and Samba 3.0.24 and fairly new to samba. The default smb.conf makes mention

When I run "adminpak.msi" (extracted from Windows 2000 SP4) it says it wil l not run on this version of Windows, and if you continue to install you get a System File Protection error.
