How normal is this memory usage?
The following is from just two invocations of "mongrel_rails". Is this normal? 57M x 3 seems a little high to me. This is the latest pre-release, Debian sarge, on my VPS. external esata RAID box, how to spin down drives when idle?
...its own, i.e, the drives stay spinning continuosuly, 24X7. Setting the appropriate power-save options in the screen saver or power manager screens doesn't seem to have any effect on these drives. Wondering if anyone can suggest other ways to approach this? Normally it is idle for about 23H, 57M per day, as it only runs a short backup session at 00:30, using rsnapshot which doesn't take very long at all. cat /proc/scsi/scsi reports: Host: scsi6 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: ATA Model: JMicron H/W RAID Rev: 0958 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision...

There is actually WAY more software, but I couldn't possibly list it all. It

What is writing to my filesystem
I have a CentOS 5.2 box that every few months runs out of drivespace on its root filesystem. Last time I manually searched and deleted some big files, but don't remember what they were or what wrote to them. The applications I'm aware of on the box don't write to /. Is there a way to find the files that get written to the most, or grow the most over time? Doing a df gives me a

Request to speed up save()

How do I resize a Physical Partition in a Dom U that''s "on" a Logical Volume in the Dom 0?
...-------> mounts @ "/" So with this the Dom U gets started OK. In the guest I see df -H Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/xvdc1 4.3G 2.1G 2.0G 51% / udev 543M 78k 543M 1% /dev /dev/xvda1 82M 19M 57M 14% /boot What I want to do now is increase the size of the Dom U''s root (/dev/xvdc) partition. And I want to avoid losing, overwriting, or screwing up somehow my data in the process :-) I know the first step I have to do is increase the size of the right LV, that matches the /dev/xvdc...
