24V DC ATX PSU with limited UPS functionality over USB
Hello Developers and *, I am working on a "24V DC ATX PSU" for Photopholtaik Systems which can have input voltages from 18V to 27.7 Volt and is entirely modular, which mean, you can select the desired module/s (up to 6) from ATX (96/144/240/300W), P4 (144W), SATA (82/305W) and Device (34/68/136W) And last not least, I want to build a &quo...

HID PDU implementation [WAS: 24V DC ATX PSU with limited UPS functionality over USB]
.... Now I have read Tonns of documents and i am puzzeling arround, HOW to implement the HID PDC stuff in my PDU. Can you tell me, where I can find documents and maybe example source codes for the implementation? Ring power on Analog adapters
Hello, I have a big old Fax machine that will only pick up a ring at 24volts and 20mA(minimum) ring[according to the technical specs manual]. None of my SIP -> Analog phone adapters supply this: Cisco - 50 volts SIPURA - 70 volts Handytone - who knows, but it doesn't work can anyone tell me if there are any analog adapters or channel banks that can send a 24V 2...

Polycom Power Specs
Does anybody happen to know the input power specs for the Polycom IP 500 and IP 600? We've mixed up our power supplies and we've got a whole box of them and can't figure out which go to the Polycoms. I would rather not kill the phones by trying random ones....

Any UPS hardware hackers ?
...mart-UPS? The APC support division will not reveal _any_ details or service information, and the only descriptive documentation I've found on the Web is in Russian. The problem: I have an APC Smart-UPS 500 which has slowly increased its battery float charge voltage over the years until now the 24V battery is being float charged with 28.5V. This destroys the battery in short order. Presumably some component has drifted off its nominal value over the years. Finding out which one is difficult, though. The inverter's power MOSFET stage doubles as a charging voltage regulator. The MOSFETs a...

Cyberpower Value1200E might not need 0.667 battery scaling
I just got a Cyberpower SOHO Value 1200 ELCD UPS and even with nut 2.7.2, it appears to report battery voltage too low due to the battery scaling function (In drivers/cps-hid.c). Even though the ups has usb id: 0764:0501, UPS.PowerSummary.Voltage reports 26.6 for the 24V batteries so when the 0.667 battery scale is applied that goes down to 17.7V. upsc output: battery.charge: 100 battery.charge.low: 10 battery.charge.warning: 20 battery.mfr.date: CPS battery.runtime: 3012 battery.runtime.low: 300 battery.type: PbAcid battery.voltage: 17.7 battery.voltage.nominal...

I'm wondering if that scale factor is only needed for that one Dynex UPS model. We should be able to do a string match, which is ugly, but should work (especially if we default to no scaling). USBHID-PDU datagram
Hello *, I have my "24V DC modular ATX PSU" running yet and it collect already the data form the DS1780 and MAX1036/8. The Microcontroller is a Maxim Integrated Device DS89C450 and the USB-Controller a MAX3420E which works over SPI Bit-Banging. OK, this is now working and enumeration is done... ;-) Now since...

Incorrect Values From usbhid-ups
I just noticed what I think is another incorrectly reported value. I found that on the second screen of upsstats.cgi, the one with bar graphs, that the reported battery voltage is 16.0V even though the battery charge is at 100% and the UPS is on AC power. I would have thought it should be more than 25V.

# IP601's with POE per Catalyst 3560G-48PS
Hello people, I am having difficulties figuring out the POE power draw in watts from a Polycom IP601. I want to know how many IP601's can be powered from the Cisco Catalyst 3560G-48PS. The IP601 wallwart has: Input 120VAC 60hz 19W, Output 24VDC 500mA. I assume the output is appropriate value to figure out how many phones can be powered. The Cisco 3560 datasheet says "the 48-port PoE configurations can deliver the necessary power to support 24 ports at 15.4W, 48 ports at 7.7W, or any combination in between" ...370 Watts POE...

For a while now I've been using a virtual machine to test changes to the driver, but now I...

UPS CYBERPOWER CP1300EPFCLCD MISSING FROMCOMPATIBILITY LIST
...wn after the clients. I have done a simulated mains failure and the loss of mains is transmitted to the clients from the server. My agenda is to try and get the two incorrect values to be correct. Everything works pretty well with the exception of two values. The Battery Voltage should be 24V as it's a 2 x 12V system connected in series. The OUTPUT voltage should be about 240-245V but is shown about 260 and I have seen values up to 265V I have checked the OUTPUT VOLTAGE on the UPS front panel and it's showing the correct value, that is if the input voltage is 242V then the pan...

Misreported values with newhidups
...degrees Kelvin is about 46 degrees Celius. That's a far more reasonable reading. The same conversion would be appropriate for ups.temperature. input.voltage is just plain wrong. battery.voltage... I'm not really sure if this is wrong or not. It's higher than the nominal voltage of 24V. Once charged, shouldn't the voltage be near the "nominal" value? All of the other values look at least in the ballpark. The runtime looks good. And by turning devices on and off I think the load value is correct to. -- --John Gruenenfelder Research Assistant, UMass Amherst...
